Dar es Salaam. After narrowly escaping being thrown in jail in 2018, now the Member of Parliament for Morogoro South East, Hamisi Shabani Taletale, popularly known as Babu Tale, is looking back at the jail after the process of throwing him in jail has started again.
Babu Tale who is one of the directors of a company involved in entertainment activities, Tip Top Connections Company Limited is in danger of being jailed due to his failure to pay Sh250 million compensation to the lecturer of the Islamic religion, Sheikh Hashim Mbonde.
Sheikh Mbonde has already filed an application to the High Court asking the court to order Babu Tale who is also the manager of a famous new generation music artist (Bongo fleva), Abdul Nassib known as Diamond Platnumz to be arrested and imprisoned for failing to pay him the compensation.
Sheikh Mbonde has filed the application against Tip Top and Babu Tale after the Court of Appeal dismissed their notice of intention to appeal against the judgment of the High Court which ordered them to pay the compensation, on August 17, 2022.
The court dismissed the statement of intention to appeal, following Sheikh Mbonde's request, after agreeing with his arguments that Babu Tale could not take the necessary steps, that is, submit the reasons for the appeal within the time.
The application for claim number 467 of the year 2022 of Sheikh Mbonde scheduled to be heard by Judge Obadia Bwegoge is scheduled to be mentioned in court on October 29, this year.
However, after the High Court dismissed their statement of intention to appeal, Babu Tale has also submitted another request for permission to submit a statement of intention to appeal out of time.
